IAALM offers two-day weekend workshops and ongoing studies in Kototama Inochi medicine. We are an NCCAOM approved PDA provider, offering continuing ed courses and an ongoing training program for licensed acupuncturists. This workshop provides an introduction to the practice & methodologies of Kototama Inochi Medicine. Course Participants will learn an overview of basic concepts & principles, and gain hands-on practice with intro levels of hand-ki exercises, hara work, pulse diagnosis, and Kototama sound meditation.
In this workshop participants will study “the way of the hands” for guiding energy (ki) back to optimal function in clinical practice. Inochi TeATe, Anma, and Shiatsu and their relationship to Tsubo will be discussed, studied, and practiced in a manner that will allow the participant to incorporate these techniques immediately into clinical practice.
This workshop will teach the beginning level of the Nakazono and Duckworth lineage of pulse diagnosis within Kototama Inochi Medicine. The studies will allow the participants to begin using this traditional pulse diagnostic system immediately in their clinical practice. Also, this workshop will provide direct studies on how to diagnose the pulse and utilize the diagnosis to enhance treatment and overall patient care.
This workshop will teach practitioners an avenue to create a clinical pediatric practice. You will learn methods for examining and diagnosing, Shonishin techniques with various tools, moxibustion (Chose) approaches, and tactile therapy techniques that can all be effectively implemented into clinical practice. Introduce dietary, herbal, and homeopathic considerations in pediatric care will also be presented.

His reinterpretation of the source of Life Energy and its application in Meridian Therapy he termed Kototama Life Medicine. Thomas E. Duckworth spent thirteen years as Nakazono Osensei’s student. It was in that setting that Dr. Duckworth unlocked the arrangement of the Kototama pulse sequence. This diagnostic approach clarifies the Three Yin/Three Yang affiliation with the Five Element model and is known as Kototama Inochi Medicine.
